East County San Diego is really as country as it gets. People do not realize that California can also be full on country. About 25 miles east on highway 8 you'll find Lakeside and Alpine; ths is where Kayla and Chad hail from. It has beautiful rolling hills, giant oak trees, horse ranches, and awesome backdrops for photos. Pillsbury Ranch is a beautiful animal sanctuary owned by the infamous Joan Embery. Joan is an animal activist and has been for decades. Her ranch is a sanctuary for many different kinds of endangered animal species. There are plenty of horses alongside zebras, lemurs, condors, and many other animal species. Pillsbury Ranch has also recently become a really beautiful wedding venue and it was perfect for Kayla and Chad's big day. As a photographer there was so much to work with. There was great natural light, walls, barns, meadows, just too many terrific backdrops to mention. We started the day photographing Chad at his parent's house and then moved on to Chad and Kayla's new house for Kayla's prep photos. After the beautiful ceremony, we took some great family photos, bridal party photos, and photos of Kayla and Chad all around this vast property. Kayla works at my dentist's office as a dental technician, and Chad is a Lakeside firefighter. The fire engines came through a few times throughout the afternoon and evening, and we were able to get some awesome photos using them as backdrops. The whole day was an awesome celebration of love that I was proud to be a part of. I want to thank Kayla and Chad and their friends and family for being so kind and gracious throughout the day. Happy holidays and thanks for checking out my blog.
All the best,
