Kim and Andy are one of the sweetest couples you'll ever meet. Their love for family and each other is palpable, and that was extremely apparent on their wedding day, as was their love for the outdoors and nature. Their wedding took place at Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo, a beautiful community just north east of San Diego. The Bernardo Winery is one of my favorite places to shoot because it has so many great backdrops for photos. It is a small family run winery that is surrounded by quaint boutiques, shops and cafes. It's almost like a little town within itself. All around the property you can spot eclectic old buildings, blacksmith shops, grape vines, fields and gardens; again, a hay day for photographers.
We started the day photographing Kim, her bridesmaids and family at a beautiful private estate near the winery. The girls were in great spirits enjoying champagne and mimosas while getting their hair and makeup done. After some details and prep photos, we stepped outside for some pretty natural light portraits of Kim, her bridesmaids and family.
Down the road to the winery we went to meet with Andy and the guys. It was great photographing them around the winery, as they were in great spirits as well. After a beautiful ceremony with 150 family and friends in attendance, we took some family, bridal party, and most importantly, portraits of the happy couple. After some splendid food and drink, dancing and merriment, Kim, Andy and I were able to get some cool night time photos in a classic T Bird, provided by Kim's long time nieghbor and friend. It was a great celebration of love that I was proud to be a part of.
